Garage Painting

Transform your garage with heavy-duty floor and wall painting

About This Service

A garage painting project can transform an underused, unattractive space into something far more functional and pleasant to use. Whether you want a simple fresh coat on the walls, a hardwearing floor coating or a complete makeover inside and out, our garage painting service covers it all.

What Garage Painting Involves

  • Heavy-duty floor paint or epoxy coating for concrete garage floors
  • Wall painting with breathable masonry or block paint
  • Garage door painting in gloss or specialist door paint
  • Ceiling and roof beam painting
  • Treatment of any damp patches or efflorescence before painting
  • Line marking for parking or workspace areas

Why Use a Professional?

Garage environments expose paint to heavy use, oil, rubber and moisture. Standard exterior masonry paints are not suitable for garage floors and will wear rapidly. Our team uses the correct heavy-duty products for each surface in a garage environment.

Our Process

1

Assessment

We assess the garage floor, walls and door for condition and specify appropriate products for each surface.

2

Preparation

We clean all surfaces thoroughly — garage floors need degreasing and any oil stains treated before painting.

3

Floor Coating

We apply the floor coating in the correct sequence — primer, then one or two coats of heavy-duty floor paint or epoxy.

4

Walls and Door

We paint walls and ceiling with appropriate products and finish the garage door in gloss or specialist door paint.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best paint for a garage floor?

For most garage floors we use a water-based polyurethane or epoxy floor paint, which offers excellent durability and resistance to oil and chemicals.

Can you paint a garage door?

Yes — up-and-over steel and GRP composite doors can both be painted. We use specialist metal or GRP primer as appropriate.

How long before you can drive on a painted garage floor?

Most floor coatings should not be driven on for at least 72 hours after final application. We advise you to wait longer in cold weather.

Can you treat oil stains on a concrete floor before painting?

Yes — oil stains on concrete must be treated with a specialist primer or de-greasing agent before floor paint is applied, otherwise the paint will not adhere.

Our garage was embarrassing to open the door. Decorama painted the floor and walls and now it's actually a pleasure to use. What a transformation.
